About Bretin's

Products and services at Bretin's have been developed over many years. Our primary goal is to serve clients who value high quality annual flowers for their homes or businesses. Our specialty is container gardens: more specifically, hanging baskets, patio pots, and  window boxes.

Discerning gardeners can co-ordinate the look of their landscape by choosing from our colorful collection of hanging baskets; then coordinate with deck and patio pots or window boxes. Clients can use many special services to ensure success, including pre-planning and booking of required items as well as delivery. To complete the landscape, many of our favorite plants are also available "a-la-carte", available for planting into surrounding flower beds or planter boxes, ensuring a co-ordinated planting plan.

Our business began as a small "cash & carry" retail greenhouse. Over the years, we converted many people who shopped "cash and carry" to our pre-order service. As pre-orders grew, cash and carry shrunk. Our client base has a really nice mixture of people, with orders that range in size from a few plants to hundreds. We're happy to help our clients with their small backyard projects, or to take on large scale orders - landscape companies, hotels and restaurants.

Our staff consists of as many as 12 members. Some are full time, others part-time, and some work only during the greenhouse season. Many of our staff have already chosen parenthood as their primary occupation. Working at Bretin's allows staff to learn and grow in a second occupation of horticulture.

I speak for all of my staff when I say that we love growing flowers for those who appreciate them for their unpredictable surprises. Many clients show appreciation with their thoughtful gestures, and that is really what tucks us into bed at the end of a long day. Some clients are able to offer a slice of coffee cake from the kitchen as we hurry through our delivery route. Often we receive a pillow and blanket in a luxury room at a client's hotel after unloading a whole truckload of flowers. Hospitality feels good, no matter what form it comes in.
